How to Transfer Your Beatsource Metadata
Before reading and acting on this article, please ensure you’ve reviewed the Beatsource Migration FAQ.
We’re working with our partners – such as Serato, rekordbox, and VirtualDJ – to help carry over your Beatsource DJ application metadata, including everything from loops to beat grids. That way, when you play tracks from your old Beatsource playlists on your preferred DJ setup, all your track information will appear on Beatport exactly as it did on Beatsource. We suggest holding off on the migration process until your specific DJ application is officially supported. Migrating too early may result in your metadata not transferring correctly. We are working closely with all partners to expand support as quickly as possible. Please review the table below for more details on when this may be possible with your preferred DJ application.
If you wish to transfer your Beatsource metadata, please follow the steps below:
- Confirm your DJ application supports transferring your Beatsource metadata in the table below.
- Complete the migration process on Beatsource.com.
- If applicable, update your DJ application and follow the in-app instructions.
- Open Beatport Streaming inside your DJ application.
After migrating from Beatsource to Beatport, you can use your new Beatport Streaming account in your preferred DJ application even before metadata-transfer support is released. Once that support becomes available, you may choose to transfer your original Beatsource database, but doing so will overwrite any changes you’ve made since the migration.
In-App Partner Support
Please see below for the latest information from our partners regarding when they will release support for transferring your Beatsource Metadata within their application.

Please note that when a track is transferred from a Beatsource playlist to a Beatport playlist, the underlying audio file may differ slightly from the Beatsource version of the same track. These small differences can cause beat grids to shift, which may affect the placement of metadata such as loops and cues. While this should not impact most users, it is a potential risk to be aware of.
If you encounter any problems during the migration, please contact Beatport customer support, who will be able to assist you.
