When to Migrate
- Can I migrate now? The migration is being rolled out in phases. The best way to check your eligibility is to log in to your account at Beatsource.com. If you aren't eligible yet, don't worry, we are moving quickly. Keep an eye on your inbox for a personal invitation or check back periodically for updates.
- Should I migrate now if I am eligible? We’re working with our partners – such as Serato, rekordbox, and VirtualDJ – to help carry over your Beatsource DJ application metadata, including everything from loops to beat grids. That way, when you play tracks from your old Beatsource playlists on your preferred DJ setup, all your track information will appear on Beatport exactly as it did on Beatsource. We suggest holding off on the migration process until your specific DJ application is officially supported. Migrating too early may result in your metadata not transferring correctly. We are working closely with all partners to expand support as quickly as possible. Make sure to check the Transferring Beatsource Metadata to Beatport Using Your DJ Application FAQ for more details on when this may be possible with your preferred DJ application.

General Migration Information
- What is happening to Beatsource? Beatsource is joining forces with Beatport as part of a broader strategy to bring DJs together on one unified platform. As a result, Beatsource will be phased out as a standalone product, and all Beatsource customers will be migrated to Beatport.
- Is this a positive change for Beatsource users? Yes. By unifying the platforms, users will still have access to everything they previously enjoyed on Beatsource, plus additional benefits.
-
What are the benefits? Once you’ve fully migrated to Beatport, you’ll still have everything you loved about Beatsource – such as open-format music, curated playlists, lossless audio streaming, Offline Library playback, and the DJ Exclusives and DJ Edits (referred to as DJ Edits and DJ Versions on Beatport) that made Beatsource unique. In addition, you’ll gain access to everything Beatport has to offer, including:
- A specialized music catalog built for DJs – with over 15 million tracks across every electronic music genre.
- One of the only music catalogs that’s ready for stem-separation inside your preferred DJ software.
- More DJ integrations, including support for the latest AlphaTheta hardware such as the CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, OMNIS-DUO, OPUS-QUAD, and XDJ-AZ, along with a mobile app available for iOS and Android.
- A free version of Traktor, valued at $49 alone, plus access to the highly regarded Pete Tong DJ Academy.
- How will the migration be executed? The migration is being rolled out in phases, and we expect to complete it in early May. The best way to check your eligibility is to log in to your account at Beatsource.com. If you aren't eligible yet, don't worry, we are moving quickly. Keep an eye on your inbox for a personal invitation or check back periodically for updates. After the migration window closes any remaining users will be automatically migrated, and Beatsource access will be disabled.
- What if I don't migrate before early May? If you choose not to manually migrate, your playlists, and active streaming plan will be moved automatically when the migration window closes.
- How long does the migration process take? The migration takes around 10-15 seconds for the average user, though the exact duration depends on the size of your library.
- Can the migration be undone? No, once the migration is completed, migrations cannot be undone, and your Beatsource account will be closed.
Your Music, Playlists, and Downloads
- What happens to my playlists? All your playlists will be transferred from Beatsource to Beatport.
- What happens if a track in my playlist is not available on Beatport? While we aim for a 1:1 migration, some tracks may initially be unavailable. Don’t worry, these tracks will still appear in your Beatport playlists but will be marked as unavailable. Depending on your DJ application, they will either be greyed out, hidden, or fail to load. In some cases, you may find a track is actually available if you search for it manually – it may already exist on Beatport under a different release, version, or label. We're working quickly to make any unavailable tracks available as soon as possible.
-
What happens to my purchase history? Your purchase history will be transferred to a new playlist on Beatport called Beatsource Purchased Tracks. Please make sure to download any purchases you haven’t saved before the transfer, as once they are in Beatport, you will no longer be able to download them. We have also unlocked the ability to re-download any previously purchased tracks on Beatsource. If you’re having trouble accessing your Downloads, please try the following:
- Refresh the page.
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
- Disable any ad-blockers or VPNs you may be using.
- Ensure your browser is up to date.
- Make sure to allow cookies on the site, as they are required for all functions to work properly.
- What happens to tracks in my Cart or Hold Bin? These tracks will not be transferred, so be sure to purchase them soon or add them to a new playlist.
- How do I transfer my Beatsource metadata using my preferred DJ application (e.g., cue points, loops, beat grids)? We’re working with our partners – such as Serato, rekordbox, and VirtualDJ – to help carry over your Beatsource DJ application metadata, including everything from loops to beat grids. That way, when you play tracks from your old Beatsource playlists on your preferred DJ setup, all your track information will appear on Beatport exactly as it did on Beatsource. Make sure to check the Transferring Beatsource Metadata to Beatport Using Your DJ Application FAQ for more details on when this may be possible with your preferred DJ application.
- What will happen to my Offline Library tracks? Please move these tracks to a new playlist in Beatsource before you start the migration. Once they’re available on Beatport, you can move them back into the Offline Library in your preferred DJ application.

- What if I have both a Beatsource and a Beatport Streaming subscription? If you have both, your current Beatport subscription will remain active and, if necessary, be moved to a new plan that matches the benefits you previously had with Beatsource. Your Beatsource subscription will be canceled, saving you money since you won’t need two separate subscriptions.
- Can I change my subscription plan after migration? Yes. You can visit your subscription settings on Beatport at any time to change or cancel your subscription.
-
What if I don’t want to migrate and would rather opt out?
- If you prefer not to transfer, you can cancel your Beatsource Streaming subscription. Please use this link to learn more about how to do so. Please note that all playlists will automatically be transferred to Beatport when the migration window closes. Even if you cancel your Beatsource Streaming subscription and do not initiate the transfer during the window, your Beatport Group account details, such as your username and email address, will remain intact and still be usable on Beatport.com in case you choose to continue using your account in the future.
- If you would like to delete your Beatport Group account before the migration window closes and prevent any of your information from being transferred, please log in to Beatsource, go to the My Account page, and select Manage Account.
-
How do I request deletion of my data?
- If you wish to delete your account and all data associated with it, you can select the “Delete Account” option here.
- To protect your privacy and to make sure the request is complied with correctly, we will need to verify your identity by asking you to log into your account.
- We will review your request in line with the applicable data protection laws, and will aim to complete your request within one month (or 45 days for US residents). If your request is particularly complex, we may need a little more time, but we will let you know within the first month if that is the case.
- In most cases, we will honour your request and delete your data. However, there may be cases where we are required by law to keep certain pieces of information to comply with legal obligations. If we cannot delete specific data, we will clearly explain why in our response to you.
Logging In and Access
- What should I do if I’ve never logged into Beatport before? Once you’ve completed the transfer process, we’ll guide you through an onboarding process that highlights how to get the most out of your Beatport account.
- Will I be able to access Beatsource after the migration? After your migration you will no longer be able to log in to Beatsource. You can still visit Beatsource.com and browse anonymously, but login access will be disabled and you will not be able to access your Beatsource playlists. All account access and management will take place through Beatport.
- Do I need to update my DJ software or hardware? If you want to transfer your Beatsource metadata using your preferred DJ application – including cue points, loops, beat grids, and more, you may need to update to the latest version. Many applications have already released support for this capability, allowing you to complete the transfer directly within their software. For the most up-to-date information on our partners and whether they currently support or plan to support this functionality, please visit this FAQ. If you do not wish to transfer your Beatsource metadata, you do not need to update. Please note that our partners will also begin rolling out updates that remove Beatsource Streaming from your preferred DJ software or hardware.
- What's happening to Beatsource DJ? Beatsource DJ is transitioning to Beatport DJ. Once your migration is complete, you’ll be able to log in to Beatport DJ and enjoy all your existing playlists, the same functionality you love, and exciting new features.
- What if I use different email addresses for Beatsource and Beatport? Beatport and Beatsource accounts are linked by the same username and email address. If you use different email addresses for Beatport and Beatsource, you will have two separate accounts with different usernames. During the migration, your Beatsource account will sync only with the Beatport account that shares the same email address and username.
If you encounter any problems during the migration, please contact Beatport customer support, who will be able to assist you.
